Absences

Parents or guardians are asked to notify the Edunite Centre if their child is unable to attend a session.

  • Notification: If notified at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled session, no fee will apply. Cancellations made within 72 hours will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to half of the class fee.
  • Make-up Sessions: A make-up session can be arranged at a time that suits the student. Make-up sessions are dependent on the availability of the educators and should be within the week. If the student attends the make-up session, the full class fee will be charged.

Accidents and Incidents

Our educators prioritise safety to ensure proper supervision and minimise the risk of accidents.
In the event of an accident at Edunite:

  • Staff will provide immediate First Aid.
  • If further medical attention is required, the parent/guardian will be contacted.
  • If a parent/guardian or emergency contact cannot be reached, emergency services (000) will be called to provide the necessary medical care.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System

Edunite has an obligation to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors, in line with our duty of care. Our CCTV system supports us in fulfilling these obligations.
In accordance with our responsibilities, Edunite may use CCTV cameras for the following purposes:

  • Prevention and verification: To prevent and verify incidents involving criminal behaviour or misconduct on Edunite grounds.

Access to CCTV footage is strictly limited to these purposes and is only available to the Director or their nominee, or to individuals permitted by law.

CCTV cameras are:

  • Not hidden or covert.
  • Not placed in private areas such as toilets.
  • Not used to monitor the work performance of students or staff.

Child Safe Standards

Edunite is committed to ensuring the protection of all students from every form of abuse. We strive to create and maintain a child-safe and child-friendly environment, where children and young people are not only safe but also feel secure.

Collection of Children

Children will only be released to authorised individuals known to our educators.

  • Please notify the child’s teacher if there is any change in the person picking up your child.
  • If a child is not collected within 10 minutes of the session ending, we will contact the parents/guardians.
  • If the child remains uncollected 30 minutes after the session ends, we will contact the emergency contact

Duty of Care

All Edunite staff have a duty of care to ensure students' safety and take reasonable steps to minimise the risk of foreseeable harm.

Fees

A term at Edunite consists of 10 sessions. Information about the fees to be discussed at enrolment and included with the enrolment form.

Inclusion and Diversity

Edunite is committed to fostering an environment where all members of our community are welcomed, accepted, and treated equitably and with respect, regardless of their backgrounds or personal attributes. This includes, but is not limited to, race, language, religious beliefs, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation. We aim to ensure that everyone can participate, achieve, and thrive.

We acknowledge and celebrate the rich diversity of backgrounds and experiences within our community. Edunite will not tolerate any behaviour, language, or practices that label, stereotype, or demean others.

Parent Grievances

We welcome feedback on your child’s learning experience at Edunite.

  • If you have concerns, your first point of contact should be your child’s teacher, who will work with you to resolve any issues.
  • If the matter requires further attention, please speak with our director. All grievances will be addressed with care and diligence.

Privacy and Confidentiality of Records

Edunite ensures that all student records remain confidential. No information will be shared with individuals who are not directly involved in the child’s education or care, except with proper authorisation.
